Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to help you get the most out of FishSwap.

How do I join FishSwap?

Choose Personal or Business Account from the home page, register and verify your email. Then complete your profile.

How do I create a listing?

Sign in, open Create a listing, add accurate details about the fish, plants or equipment, and submit. You can manage your posts in My Listings.

What is My Fish Room?

Your Fish Room tracks your tanks, equipment and what you have or want. These details help you organize your hobby and discover relevant matches.

How does local matching work?

FishSwap uses your saved ZIP code and search radius with listing and interest keywords. Exact matches depend on the information members provide and local availability.

How do I contact a seller?

Open a listing and use the available messaging action. Agree on pickup, payment and fish care details directly with the other member.

Does FishSwap handle payments between members?

No. FishSwap does not process person-to-person marketplace purchases or guarantee transactions. Paid FishSwap membership subscriptions use Stripe.

What is included in the free plan?

Free members can browse without a browsing limit, create up to three active For Sale listings and three active Looking For listings, and make up to ten new contacts each month, subject to the app's current server-side limits.

How do subscriptions work?

Open Subscription settings to review your current plan and available paid tiers. Stripe handles membership payments. If a completed test checkout did not activate, use the Check existing subscription action rather than paying again.

How can I report a problem?

Use reporting or blocking controls where available, or submit a safety concern through Contact Support.

Can I list any fish species?

No. You are responsible for following applicable local, state and federal restrictions. Do not list prohibited, invasive or protected species.

How can I cancel a paid plan?

Contact support for billing help. Until self-service cancellation is available and verified, do not assume that simply logging out or removing a listing cancels Stripe billing.
